How do i encode my AVI in DivX?

ive tried visual hub but i see no divx (*.avi). ive also tried final cut pro but only found stuff like cinipak and DVD-Pal and other DV- NSTL or whatever. i did see a DivX codec in a different converter but im not sure if its a good idea to use it because i the settings like bitrate and audio are locked...?
