How Do I Fandub an Anime?

So, my friends and I wanted to make a fan dub, and I have no clue how. I have been looking up how to's, but it is about songs, and I want to fandub anime, with the background music and everything. I figured, that if I recorded the voices and detached the audio, I could just download the background music. I found the background music, but I am a little skeptical, because I am not sure how to do this. Other people said to just overlap your voice with the clip, but I don't want the Japanese voices to appear. Another thing I was worried about was the subtitles. If there is no dub, then I won't be able to get the clips without the subtitles.

So please, could someone help me? Just tell me what I need to/should do.
