How do I fix my LG Chocolate? Original model VX-8550.?

It's the one without the pushbuttons, just the touch sensors. Sometimes when I touch one of the sensors, it either does nothing or acts like it is being held down. Sometimes when I slide it open, random things are pressed.

Will Verizon fix this without erasing everything? Is there an easy way to fix this?

Verizon won't do much to help you. I'm on my 4th chocolate in just over 2 years, and it's getting kind of ridiculous. It will save you money just to get a new phone. What you are describing is normal behavior for chocolates, but trust me, there will be more problems in the future. Save yourself the money and the stress and get a phone that isn't an LG.
