My dog keeps sniffing and muzzling her nose into our new shag rug. She also gnaws and sucks at it a little bit. I can't figure out what in the rug she's so attracted to but it's driving me crazy since the rug was a gift and I'd really like to keep it in good shape. I also hope there's nothing toxic in the rug that could hurt her? Is there a dog deterrent undetectable to the human nose that I could spray on the rug without staining it?
