How do I get the internet from my linksys box on my new mac?

We have 4 computers. and the Linksys box is hooked up to the main computer. Its easy to get internet on windows computers because you just go to the bottom right of the screen and it shows you what networks are available. But on macs, I have no idea how to find the network. can someone tell me step by step what to click on?

Click the wireless icon in the top right corner of the screen and select the network. Then enter any wireless keys and it should connect.
