How do i make assigned ringtones to a contact work on Sanyo Zio?

This is somewhat of a troubleshooting issue.
I know "how" to do it.
However, even if i correctly assign a ringtone to a contact, the default ringtone still plays.
In fact, the default ringtone plays regardless.
My phone is Sanyo Zio SCP-8600 (Sprint).
Any suggestions?

Obie, I was having the same problem. I had not entered the area code for local numbers. When I went back and entered the area codes, the specific ringtones started working. Hope that helps.
