How do I make my unlocked phone stop thinking it's T-Mobile?

I bought a phone off ebay, an unlocked T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S4. It works with my carrier just fine, but I keep getting these pop-up t-mobile widgets or "data connectivity has been turned off" warnings. I was wondering if there is any way to make that stop?
