I have a phobia of cats but the rest of my family members love cats so they adopted a kitten. (either a scottish fold/british shorthair/british fold i have no idea) .
I am now stuck in my room because i'm really afraid to go out and when i do, i don't know why but the cat would follow me, which causes me to break down. Whenever i thought it's asleep and wanted to leave the room to go to the washroom, it would suddenly wake up and send me running for my room. This leaves me in a difficult position because i'd only get to go to the washroom once a day and sometimes i won't even get to eat. I'm really depressed right now because it looks like my family replaced me FOR A CAT.
So how do i get this cat to stop following me around? Is there a way to make it to be afraid of me?
