How do I put my college email on my android phone?

Hi everyone. So I recently received a .edu email address for my classes at the university this summer. This email is where all my teachers and classmates will contact me so I need to check it often. I want to know if there is some way I can set up my droid to import the email. The gmail app for droid works great but I don't think that will work here.

I'm pretty sure it uses IMAP. And for example, my email address would be something like:
[email protected]
