I'm trying to convert a video file to a DVD playable format, but the program I use for that (DVD Flick) doesn't seem to recognize the .divx format.

you need a converter
just go to google and search for "avi converter" you will find million of it for free

If the file's actually .avi encoded and just has the .divx extension, it's easy. Open Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, View, then uncheck "Hide Extensions for Known Types." OK out of everything. Then you should be able to rename the entire file instead of just the base.

use jet audio and or ulead video studio and convert them with the highest quality.Maybe DVD flickr doesn't support the format
