Try starting with a question. Then, state why you thought the answer was important to pursue. (Difficult in this case.) Next, state your hypothesis. That should be sufficient for the introduction. I'm in eighth grade, but I'm pretty good at discerning a) what teachers want and b) what teachers will be bored with. Try to give them more of the first without the latter.
