How do I stop my wired internet from connecting to more than one network?

I live in a dorm and use my university's ethernet. Sometimes when I plug in my ethernet cord, my computer will connect to multiple networks. If I try to disable one of them, they all end up being disabled. How can I make it so my computer only connects to my school's network and not others? I use vista if that makes a difference.
