how do i successfully pick up a girl in the mall? around 16-20?

I just went to see batman at a mall and its a really bad day weather wise and there were heaps of hot chicks in the mall. Im basically 18 and pretty good looking... just shy and not sure how to approach a girl well and talk... so i am seeking help in this area. Approaching either a group of hot girls or individuals.. Any tips etc.. what would you like for a guy to do when approaching?

my take is, just be yourself if your nervous the girl will sense it away. ask her the time, compliment her on her watch or phone. and it's best if the girl is alone... in a group the girls bounce ideas off of each other. meaning u will most likely get shot down even if u are a decent guy.

now, that being said.. there is no particular angle to seekin out these "mall-rats".. just presenting yourself, being wellgroomed an welldressed, and feelin upbeat an confident.. these are the basics but they can be the difference to strikin up a convo with a girl you have an eye on..
