BUT, the key slid right out with the car running. So, I have a parked running motor with no key in the ignition. When I put the key back in, like I said, it wont let me twist back toward me allowing the removal, and obviously if I try turning the key forward any, it makes that god awful sound of a car trying to start when it's already running.
