How do I use a bluetooth earpiece?

My boyfriend just sent me one through the mail, but it doesn't come with anything else. How do I use it? I know you turn it on the side and the light turns blue but I don't know what else I need. I've tried picking up calls but it hasn't worked. Do I need to charge it? Can somebody please help me, I still haven't figured it out! Thank you!

you have to go into your phone tools and link your phone to the bluetooth. it may ask for a code to link the bluetooth, it is usually 0000. hope this helps
