how do i use my cellphone with my car bluetooth?

i have a mercedes benz s430 (2002) and i have always wondered wat r the numbers 4 its exactly like a phone. so how do i do this?
and if by any chance u know how to do the same with a cadillac escalade (2007) please tell me because i know it has it too but i have no idea how to work it!!
