If you're talking about downloaded .avi videos, then try downloading the XVID codec packs:

Some of my windows videos had an error, so I had to download Windows Codec, they still don't want to play?
What should I do? What else should I download or whatever?
How do I figure this shit out? thanks!!

it's DivX Configuration Utility
and that one download said it had to be extracted
