...than the general population? A study was done comparing people who agree with the TEA party to the control group (gen. pop.) When you look only at the Blacks & Latinos graph, they do indeed appear racist:
http://depts.washington.edu/uwiser/Stereotypes%20about%20Asians%20and%20whites%20by%20White%20tea%20Party%20Approval.pdf

However, if you then compare the "True Believers [in the TEA Party]" column on the Blacks & Latinos stereotype graph to the White & Asian one, you will see that there is really no difference at all: http://depts.washington.edu/uwiser/Stereotypes%20of%20Asians%20and%20Whites%20by%20White%20tea%20Party%20Approvval.pdf

In fact, if you compare them, you will see that the True Believers approval numbers for LATINOS EXTREMELY HARD WORKING and WHITES EXTREMELY HARD WORKING are EXACTLY the same and only seperated by the number for BLACKS EXTREMELY HARD WORKING by 4 numbers [13 to 17]. Even the biggest gap between Whites and Black, Asians and Latinos, trustworthiness, is only about 5 pts.

How does this translate into rabid racism?
