It might just be the fact that I'm accustomed to older vehicles, but this is certainly the strangest gas cap I've ever encountered. If you twist it to the left, it opens without difficulty, but if you attempt to close it... all it does is spin and click.
Upon examining the gas cap, I noticed that the piece facing the fuel tank can be twisted, which prompts it to spin in the opposite direction. I thought that might be the trick, but so far I remain unsuccessful.
I know I could buy a simple locking gas cap for ten dollars and be done with it, but money is more than a little tight right now. Any clues?
