I need to compose something for my IB work and you get loads of marks for knowledge about instrumental techniques. But to really show off what I know, I'd need to compose an avant-garde piece, with Flatterzunge, col legno etc. etc. But where do I begin? And how do I begin? How did the greats do it? Any suggestions?
