[QUOTE="saywhat2, post: 2271717, member: 793314"] I had played bari for a year, and my alto had collected mold in the bell while dormant in its case for a year. A repairman at a local music store said they could give it a chemical bath for somewhere around $60+, plus some pads will probably need to be replaced. Is this the way to go or am i being scammed? Now I'm pretty sure that the mold should be taken care, because I don't want it to further damage the horn. But then again, it is just a student model yamaha yas-23...and I've been considering upgrading, so would putting more money into this horn (it's needed expensive repairs before) be even worth it in the long run?
