For those of you who haven't heard, Toshiba dropped out!!!! Blu=Ray is the winner!!!

I'm glad because I have a PS3, and I sure as hell didn't feel like getting a HD-DVD player too. On top of that I proved everybody in my old class wrong, once again. Plus now that Blu-Ray has one, it won't be long before every Mac and PC are equipped with one.

How do you feel about Sony winning?

For those of you who don't have a Blu-Ray player do you plan on getting one now?
I mean won, not one!!!
Wheelz, the reason they won, was because the PS3. The reason DVD took off was because of the PS2. So naturally Blu-Ray had the advantage. on top of that Blu-Ray players could play DVD's too, and are the same size as DVD's.

Sony should not have won. How are Toshiba and Samsung so stupid. Now Sony can control them since they all use their technology. Expect Blu-Ray prices to rise.

Blu-ray wins and the consumer loses. Although HD discs were lower capacity, Blu-Ray are more fragile and more expensive to make. HD technology was less expensive with equal or better quality content wise. Blu-ray has always been more expensive and now has no reason not to stay that way. I refuse to pay $300.00 - $400.00 for a single disc Hi-def player, so I will not be buying a Blu-Ray. I will get all the HD DVDs that I want in my library at pennys on the dollar and my upconverting 6 disc DVD player will take care of the movies I can't get in HD. The key to Blu-Rays victory was without a doubt the PS3. I'm happy without Blu-Ray and sad to see the affordable HD bite the dust.

Well, im glad that a decision has been made.
I did not want to be stuck with a pricey paperweight so i was holding out on buying either of those. now i can buy a blu ray player.
Sony winning ..??? well doesnt matter much as they had lost out in the betamax Vs VHS battle, mayeb they did stuff differently this time marketing wise.

Most of all i'm glad that i did not succumb to temptation and buy a toshiba laptop with the HD player.
