I am getting a betta later today. And I already have a 5.5 gallon tank and gravel at the bottom and a excellent heater and filter. I am going to buy when i get my fish is 2 silk plants for the betta. And i already know what food to get. But the question i do have is this: How to prepare the water for the betta. I know you have to put water conditioner in it. But is there a certian kind of water do you have to use, or can you just use tap and then put the conditioner in and when the bottle says it is ok to put my fish i put him in?
Also what pH level does the water have to be?
And how can i make sure the pH level stays where it needs to be?
Is there a good pH reader i could buy?
