...car has the buttons for it b I want to set it up so I could use it. It has the phone button on the steering wheel but I don't know how 2 use it

I've never messed with a vehicle that has a bluetooth system in it, but my guess is a 2000 model of any car doesn't have bluetooth. You can probably connect a cable from your phone to a port onto the radio to set it up for calls(lowers radio volume when phone rings)
