I'm planning on joining one in 2011 with my older sister, but we have no idea. We are planning on our characters right now, because we made a chart of who we could be and narrowing down our choices slowly xD. We have the costume situation down, so no questions concerning that. We know what anime con we will be attending. Though, we have no idea what goes on at an anime con. We tried looking for clear answers, but we couldn't find any. We're attending the Mid-Atlantic, incase there's any special things it has that other cons don't. Thank you if you can answer the following questions. ( Try to make it as clear as possible, we want to be 100% certain, sorry. >A<;; )
#1 : Most concerning question(s) we thought of were, " Do we need some sort of ticket? " ( or ) " Is there an entrance fee? " Also, " Do we need to reservation or Register before hand ? " " Do we need to register what we are cosplaying as? "
#2 : Is there a special age limit? Like 18 + limit, and if so could you be 17 11/12 and still be able to go in? Also, if there is a person that's 18 with you, does that count as a chaperon? I heard there was special events for 18 +, but we're uncertain. Do you need I.D? If one person has I.D. and the other does not, could the other chaperon, or can you go unchaperoned? ( Talking about around the con, not in special 18 + events. )
#3 : Do they accept cash, credit, or debit? We're uncertain what to bring in case we want to buy something there. Like if we want to buy an object, art, etc. Also, in events do you have to pay to go in? How much would it normally be?
#4 : If we are just attending to have fun with other cosplays, look around, watch events, etc. Should we expect to randomly have to participate in something? ( Like a dance, skit, etc. ) I'm kind of shy, but my sister is outgoing, so I'm just a little worried about that more than her.
#5 : Are there resting areas, because we might be wearing heels or get tired from walking around after a few hours? Like a place where cosplayers could sit and chat.
#6 : Should we expect random attention? Like someone hugging, scaring, or going " OMG, you're ________ from _______! Blah blah blah... " ?
#7 : If we wanted to do a skit or something, how would we register for that? ( I probably will be forced to do something, outgoing sister. ;A;... )
#8 : Could you give us any more advice or any more answers that our questions didn't cover?
We thank you for your help.
