...body lose muscle or gain? I'm 21 and I consider myself to be very athletic and in extreme top shape, i was just wondering why i lose muscle mass when i don't do cardio workouts? I usually do a 14 mile run followed by a 40 or 50 mile bike ride and after my workout im super muscular and i actually gain muslce weight from riding&running 60 something miles and it kinda puzzles me that i get skinny when i dont do these long distance workouts. Is this because my body has adapted to my cardio workout routine? Its almost like if i dont workout i become more lean.
