How does the PS3 work as a Blu-Ray Player?

I picked the wrong side in the High-Def DVD format war, and I'm now looking to get a Blu-Ray player.

Pricing them, it seems that the PlayStation 3 is the cheapest one on the market.

I'm really not interested in it as a games console -- I already have an XBox 360 I barely use as it is. I'll probably pick up a handful of games for it, but my XBox will probably remain my primary gaming platform.

That being said, how does the PS3 perform as a Blu-Ray player? One feature I'm especially interested in is one I have on my current upconverting DVD player -- the ability to stop a movie, turn off the player, and resume where you left off.
Kasey, I have no need to resort to some sleazy spammer site. And I've reported you.

on the ps3 you could even go as far as taking the disc out, and when you put it back in it will start from the same point. it works the same as any other blueray player, the only thing being the controller instead of a remote.. mind you remotes are on the market.
and dont be surprised if your primary gaming platform switches over to ps3 if you happen to buy one.. free online network, and the updates coming out soon.. looking very very good
hope this helps
