i will be coming out of nepal by bus, seen as there are no trains in nepal, but i dont want to spend loads of money getting planes everywhere, and besides, if i get a plane i wont actually se the country close up which kinda defeats the point of going.
anyway after leaving kathmandu i want to visit the following places over a period of 7 months, based on a budget of £1000 a month...probably using the cheapest accommodation i can find!
india:
delhi, taj, mumbai, goa region, bangalore
sri lanka:
kandy, columbo - flight to phuket
thailand:
phuket, bangkok - through laos to hanoi, vietnam
head south back through laos into cambodia, down the mekong river and back to vietnam, saigon
flight from saigon to kuala lumpur
through singapore, and follow the curve of the indonesian archapeligo all the way to komodo.
then back to jakarta and fly home.
can anyone tell me the best and cheapest way of avoiding plane transport over the whole trip?
cheers
oh, and it looks like i'll be doing most of it on my own, so any streetwise tips you have would be greatly appreciated!
