I've had my current PC for 4 years now, added a bit of ram, fixed a few things here and there (fans, harddrives, disk drives, PSU) but nothing major, Pentium 4, 3.4 ghz HT, 2 GB RAM, windows vista. Love the PC, still going strong, however I feel that I've come to the point where I am waiting until I see some cheap offers on a pentium quad core PC, preferably with 3 or 4 gig of ram and a blu-ray writer and reader drive. How long do you think it's gonna take for this to happen?
Also I feel that haven't we progressed enough? I mean 4 cores is pretty powerful I imagine and should be enough for most people right? Or am I just too simple, as all I do with my PC is watch high definition movies, surf the net and burn DVDs.
