Personally being an android phone owner for four years, I have realised that an iPhone 5 doesn't satifily me compared to top line android devices. However when it comes to tablets it's a different story. For me personally, I listened to people on android forums crushing numbers and concluding that the tegra 3 with quad core crushes that a6 dual core 1.3ghz and that the tegra 3 gpu was more powerful than the powervr sgx544mp4 and therefore the ipad 4 was slow and overpriced.
Having brough the N7, I decided to try an iPad and processed to buy an iPad Mini with an A5 for its form factor (6 months ago) and personally, despite having a lower arct 1ghz dual core and powervr sgx543mp2, what people have being describing on android forums seems to be the complete opposite.
With the iPad Mini, there is no slow down or inconstant performance like yo get on android tablets, web browsing for most parts is buttery smooth and latest games even real racing 3, nova 3 and asphalt 8 ran better smoother on the mini with pre-selected high graphics (not very high like on ipad 4) than the Nexus 7 running it on low (user selected)
