How much more money (over the $300,000 he had made so far after Wilson's outburst) do you think Wilson's opponent will make in donations? And why do the repubs want to think that we are angry at Wilson's outburst, when all he did was make the repubs look worse? No one thinks he should be jailed, etc. Where are all you getting that from?

In his speech to Congress Wednesday, President Barack Obama said the changes to health care that he's proposing "would not apply to those who are here illegally." That prompted Wilson, a South Carolina Republican, to shout "You lie!" from his seat in the House chamber. Wilson later apologized for the outburst, but he didn't back down from his claim.
THE FACTS: The House version of the health care bill explicitly prohibits spending any federal money to help illegal immigrants get health care coverage. Illegal immigrants could buy private health insurance, as many do now, and they could also buy into a new government-run insurance plan if Congress creates one. But unlike legal residents, they wouldn't get federal subsidies to help them. The bill's exact language: "Nothing in this subtitle shall allow federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully in the United States."

Like I've said all along. We're not dealing with the Democrat party of old. We're dealing with barely concealed socialism.

I would hope that people make their political decisions based on more than the actions of one person. You would have to be pretty shallow (or just a sheep) to allow your core principles be changed because of one outburst.
 
How was Wilson's breach of etiquette any worse then the democratic caucus booing George Bush during the 2005 State of the Union address?

Wilson was just one man and said nothing that was factually incorrect.
 
Donations? What the hell does that mean? Willson was right Illegals will be covered. What are they gonna do throw them out on the street to die? Are you saying you really think they won't get health care here? Sure they will go to the er and get treated,,,, the reason our medical is in trouble is 'that' and now we can see it will still be there..... I thought the purpose of Obamacare was to solve that.....so what are they gonna do with the illegals,,,,do tell..
 
Most independents already know that Barack Obama is a liar.

Not many I'm sure because they feel the same way. Wilson just had the balls to speak up against the comrade. The fact that his opponent supposedly made over 300,000 in donations just proves that liberals don't like hearing the truth. I'll bet you can't prove him wrong.

we have to ask ourselves today why Wilson is not in prison or why he is still breathing, If anyone in Nazi Germany, No. Korea or the Soviet Union had done this what do you think would have happened?

I think it was an em brassing thing(as a Republican I am not em brassed) and you might wonder if he had a snort of something as `he lost self-control. I found it more interesting watching Nancy and her reactions and wondering what retaliation she was planning.
Ot is not like it has ever happened before.
 
They all scooted to the left . There is no solid ground when you side with the ignorant and the uneducated. I think its time for the independents who are capable of thinking for themselves to stop looking at Obama's face and start listening to what comes out his mouth. And yes there is a difference between being appalled at someone who disrespects the office of the president and calling for the loser who disrespected the president to go to jail. We were appalled!
 
All I can say is thank you lord for delivering up Joe Wilson to this debate. He has done more to energize the left since the election. You right wing bigots now have the Public Option to look forward to and a two term BLACK president.

BHO is a fraud.

What I can't get is why a nation elected a president who came from the cess pool of politics called IL.

Chicago has the highest taxes, one of the highest murder rates, 50% of blacks in chicago's south side are functionally illiterate, and you elect seome from there who claims to have organized that.

That is what is scary.
 
Believe it or not this was not as bad for Wilson as you seem to assume.

Many people, though they won't say it in public, were relieved to see at least ONE representative stand up and say something in the face of Obama's bullsh"t. Was is the wrong venue?? Yes. Was the sentiment sincere and mostly accurate?? Yes.

President Obama is clear: No illegal aliens will be covered by the proposed health care reforms. That is probably not technically a lie. But the president also knows that is not how it will work in practice. It is another application of "Don't ask, Don't tell."

If it is absolutely true that illegal aliens are not to be covered, then why did Democrats in a House committee on July 30th vote against an amendment, offered by Rep. Nathan Deal, that would have required health care providers to use a verification program to prevent illegal aliens from receiving government-provided health care services? While all Republicans and five Democrats on the committee voted for it, 29 Democrats voted against it, killing the amendment.

In fact, Democrats on the Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means committees defeated Republican-offered amendments that would have required people to verify their legal status before getting care, with some Democrats saying such requirements would be unnecessarily burdensome for people legally entitled to coverage. Wilson cited the defeat of those two amendments Thursday when he discussed his outburst with reporters."

Dems SAY it won't cover illegals. But they're not going to ask for proof of citizenship. So TECHNICALLY they're correct. REALISTICALLY they're DEAD WRONG if the say it won't cover illegals.
