in the uk you will get a minimum of 3pts for speeding and once you get to twelve you will proberly loose you lic... but you can get more points per offence if you are well over the limit say 100mph in a 60mph or 70mph in a 30mph. you can make an appeal to rest your lic on 11pts if you can prove that loosing your lic would affect your livelyhood.
best thing is not to speed in the first place.

how many speeding tickets does it take to lose your licence and do you get a warning that you are in danger of losing your licence if you are one ticket away?

That depends on how much OVER the speed you were caught at. The more you were speeding more points. And I think each state might have different rules. So see this article.

And no I don't think they have to warn you, as you are suppose to ALWAYS drive within the law (not just when you might lose your license).

Good Luck...

It can take as little as one ticket. You get points based on the severity of infraction. So every speeding ticket will be worth a different amount of points. And no you don't get a warning, you are just told the number of points you have, so you can pretty much tell if the next ticket will be your last.

depends i think is take 4 points to loose your liscense, or if your doing 130 in like a 60 you will loose your lisence, and the court will tell you if your about to loose your lisence
