Ok I have 1976 chevy 400 small block bore 30 over, standard pistons(because its 2 bolt main),with 96 model Vortec heads(202v),Comp.cam 280/480 ,dual line 650 Holley carb on a Welan or Eldebrock intake+MSD ign.+ S.Headers, eletric fans(only water pump and altenator pulleys) In - 86 Trans-am" 700R4 trany with 273 gear switching to 373 gear asap.....Just wanted to have a guess at what Im pushing now and how much differance will the 373 gear will make.... right now I feel like I'm in nascar with 273 gear in overdrive :)
P.s Less than 10,000 miles on both motor and trany $ fresh.

Why does horsepower matter?

Torque is what moves a car. HP is just a number created from it, not a real unit of anything.

And just FYI....unless you drive your car only on the tracks, your vehicle is now completely illegal......
