How much more distance does a 100,000 pound truck take to stop than an 80,000...

...pound truck? I heard someone say it took the heavier truck 25 percent more distance to stop than the lighter. But that's a straight math equation, since 100,000 is 25 percent more than 80,000. Kinetic energy accounts for both speed and weight. Doubling a truck's speed quadruples its stopping distance. So a 25 percent increase in weight must increase the truck's stopping distance by more than 25 percent. Ce n'est pas?
