I recently trashed the engine in my '04 RSX Type S and the dealer wants about $6000 to fix it. I called around to find a replacement engine and found one at an auto parts dealer with about 67,000 miles on it (mine had about 62,000 miles) that he says runs excellent. He quoted me a price of $2000 for the engine. I've been looking around but can't seem to determine whether or not this is a good price. The car was in pretty good shape with no other major problems up until this and about 3 months from being paid off so..... 1. What price is reasonable for a used engine of this type and mileage as well as it's installation? 2. Should I go with the used engine or fork over the 6k to have an Acura dealer repair mine? or 3. Just forget about the car and go buy another one Any advice would be appreciated
