How much should it cost to replace/rebuild a 2000 Porsche Boxster engine?

Man this sucks. I bought a 2000 Boxster of eBay and a week later the engine failed. I was just casually driving down the street and a huge cloud of smoke came from my engine, some fluids leaked underneath and it won't start.

I guess I need to take it to the shop. What is this repair going to cost me? Is it cheaper to rebuild or replace? How long does it take?
