Ive ordered a Asus p5kpl-cm motherboard and i wonder how much wattage from a PSU i need so they dont end up like my other ill-fated mobos, ive got a 300w ,200w and a 150w power supplies available the 300w has P4 as well, i don't have much $$$ at the moment so buying another may be a prob

Not related to your question, but you do realize that the ASUS motherboard you purchased is NOT COMPATIBLE with a P4 processor?

Anyway, the power supply depends on how many devices you will be connecting and the power needed to run them. Most important things to consider:
1. Wattage
2. Rail Output
3. Brand

You have not listed the rest of your computer specs, so I cannot give a full opinion on this. However, it's a good idea to get a PSU 350w AT MINIMUM!
