How much would it cost for a mechanic to fix a unknown leak?

My car has a leak and it's leaking on something hot which is causing it to smoke under my hood. I kind of got a thought where its coming from. I know it's prob gonna cost a grip but how much would be the most they'd charge me? Knowing they will have to run a few things and find the leak and fix it??
