How much would it cost if I bought my best friend a new phone from T-Mobile?

She already has a phone from T-Mobile 'cause that's her cell network and I'm thinking about buying her a new phone as a graduation present. Would I pay the full retail price, the 2 year agreement price or what? If anyone knows, I'd appreciate it.
P.S. I don't know when she can upgrade
