I was always able to give presentations without laughing or being nervous. Un till one time and lunch this girl ask me a ridiculous question, and she was serious!!! I was finished with my food but there was meat left and she asked me "Can I have your meat?" I didn't want to seem rude by laughing at her so i shoved a banana in my mouth and everyone at the table was laughing. I'm a freshman, I was sitting with my friend, a freshman and 6 seniors.

Then a few days later my friend and I were giving a presentation and we started laughing uncontrollably for about 3 mins. Now whenever i'm speaking in front of the class I can't stop laughing!!!! All because of that girl at lunch.

I have to give a little Dialogue in a class that my friend who i gave the presentation with is in.

How do I not laugh while giving a presentation.

Don't worry about it. That's a teen-ager's bane. I remember being in church in the choir. We were siting up front facing the curch members and this buddy of mine got to giggling. It was awful! That's the only time it ever happened though.....Oh wait, I lied. I was at my best friend's funeral and the lady next to me farted. I couldn't control myself. I had to leave the church and break out laughing outside.

This is a sign of anxiety. Many people laugh when they're nervous.

The best advice I can offer you is prepare well, and if someone asks a question you think is funny, try to filibuster with questions like, "Excuse me?" "Could you please rephrase that?" etc,..

All questions like these simply come down to one ability: mind over matter.

What I do though, is when someone really wants me to laugh, and I really want to too but cant, I just think to myself in a sarcastic voice, "This is hilarious, I should be laughing. I can laugh anytime I want to."

And once you really get yourself to believe that (its the truth, im not lying to myself) then you should be able to really control yourself. Just try your darndest to concentrate on the reading and not on the lunch girl
