how often do i need to replace my coil in my car?

oooh, 3 excellent answers i gonna tell my husband. 69 chargr doesnt seem to know a coil from a thermostat...lol... but i gotta leave it to a vote or else i would pick the first good answer... thanks all you for validating me.!
 
Tony sais. It should last 15 - 20 years minimum.
He said I have a 30 year old truck it still has the same coil.
 
probably once maybe twice in a cars lifetime. they dont go bad too often
 
Most people don't bother unless it goes bad. I suppose you could run a voltage output check on it once in a while if you were concerned it might be slightly off peak performance? Otherwise, I've seen some last 20-30 years.
