How to add mini apps in Android 4.1.2?

Hi all. have samsung tab 2 running on android 4.1.2 (latest update). Can you please tell me how to add mini apps. Currently they are only 8 in no. and all are basic apps which (except music player) I might use only once in a month. Does anyone know more about it ?
