How to approach a celebrity in LA?

I am from the east coast and will be doing a study abroad in Los Angeles next year. I have heard that bumping into celebrities is very common. The only time I have ever met a celebrity was Kal Penn from Harold and Kumar and it was during an Obama campaign so we just talked about that. I was pretty calm on the outside although nervous on the inside. I know they are just people but they are famous and extremely talented unlike ordinary people. My question is, especially for people who has experienced with this, what do you talk about with celebrities? How do you go about approaching them without making it seem like you want their autograph?

I live in la and have seen many celebs.
Just go up to them and try to make conversation.
Sometimes it's better not to talk to them because they can be really rude.
Good luck!!

Honestly, ever celebrity I have ever met I talked to them like a normal person and found that they would hang out longer. If you don't make a big fuss over them most of the are quite cool.

Remember, even thought they are celebrities they are still just people. They have a skill that they are using, rather it be acting, singing, or whatever. They are ordinary people. They have friends like everyone else, the eat, drink, sleep like ordinary people. They even use the bathroom like an ordinary person.

Just stay calm and if you happen to know that they like music talk about that, it's also okay to tell them that you enjoyed them in a certain movie, like a song, or whatever.

Enjoy LA, you'll never experience anything like it again. Just make sure to check out Beverly Hills, great shopping, and a great place to star watch.
