How to become a truck driver in Canda?

I'm interested in choosing trucking as a career, but I can't find a lot of resources. If anyone could direct me towards some information on basic requirements of becoming a long-haul trucker, and where to find job offer, it would be much appreciated. Advice from truck drivers would be especially helpful.
Keep in mind that I'm Canadian, so it may differ from the USA.
