How to clean my dish strainer?

We don't have a dishwasher, but we have a strainer thing that sits next to the sink and is sloped so it drains the water. It's extremely nasty and moldy and not very clean. The thing is rubber. What i was going to do was soak it in a bleach/water mixture for maybe 30 mins. and scrub off the mold then. we have a utility sink, so i wasn't going to soak it in our main sink. would this be ok to do to get rid of and kill the mold?
 
It would be the best thing to do. Bleach will penetrate the porous rubber and kill the mold. Thirty minutes should give it enough time for that and get rid of the stains. If you look at it when thirty minutes is up and stains are still present, soak it longer until stains are gone.
