how to convert movies to the format of blackberry's?

what format do movies have to be converted to in order to be able to play them on a blackberry? what programs can i download to do this for me, maybe one with a free trial? (i need one that can convert avi in particular)

one of these sites has a free app section. You are looking for the BLACKBERRY VIDEO app. with this app, you can convert dvd or mpgs through your computer and load them up on your phone. its pretty decent for a free video BB app. I loaded up Superman Returns just the other day and it looks and sounds great.
