becomes extinct.? I want to refresh and preserve my old home VHS movies for a generation to come. So it seems to me that copying to Blu-Ray would be best. But there are no VHS-->Blu-Ray machines. What do you suggest?
For example I have considered copying from VHS to DVD (I have that machine), and then converting each DVD to an MPEG on my computer, and then buying a computer with Blu-Ray recording capability and then copying each MPEG on my hard disk to the Blu-Ray. But that involves 3 lengthy, time wasting, time waiting steps.
Are there better ways? Could I copy the DVD to the hard disk without conversion, for example, do that with multiple DVDs, and then copy the whole pile of files to the Blu-Ray disk, and be able to play the movies on the Blu-Ray thereafter. I think not.
I'm not even sure, if I did the conversion of multiple DVDs to multiple Mpegs, If I could play the multiple mpegs on the Blu-Ray, thereafter.
Its early in this Blu-Ray world, so the answers arent obvious.
