How to get picture messaging for LG gw520 with T-mobile?

So I bought a new phone, the LG gw520 with t-mobile but of course, because it's not a tmobile phone, I don't get picture messages nor can I send them. I called T-mobile but they don't have the setting for it. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
