My daughter has figured out that if she drops her cheerios off the high chair, the dog rapidly scoops them up, and she thinks it's oh so hilarious. Ever since this infant/dog feeding sessions have begun, I have noticed that my dogs begging has escalated into a VERY annoying level. The dog HOVERS about 3 inches from your side, even if you're just standing in the kitchen. She does the same to the high chair now. I've even seen her take food straight from my daughters offering fingers. Now, obviously this is unacceptable behavior, but my daughter is only 10 months, and teaching her not to do that is going to be a long road at this age. Is there any solutions to curbing this behavior? I do crate train, and WILL put her in the crate during feeding times for ALL humans if I have to, but that would be considered a last resort. Clapping my hands, and saying her name forcefully makes her go away, temporarily, but she's a die hard, stubborn APBT, and she quickly "forgets" her teachings, and does it again! Does anyone have any personal experience with this? What did you do to fix it?
