how to know if a avi\divx\xvid video\file is in 5.1\DTS surround-sound or stereo?

and if it is in stereo, how can i make it in 5.1\DTS

i have cucusoft which converts avi\divx\xvid ect. and burns on to a DVD.
but what it doesn't have is a detailed audio options.-
